Bukirk Glamping FAQ

I’m sure you have many questions, so we’ve compiled some of the most common ones to make it easy for you.

Pets - are they allowed?

Bukirk is situated on a working farm. We have a menagerie of animals (sheep dogs, sheep, cows, goats, chooks and a mini pig) and due to the decor in the Tents and Fancy Coops as much as I love pets I don’t allow them to stay

Do you cater for Children?

Bukirk is an Adults Only retreat. Our Glamping Tents, Cabins and facilities are not structured for children and Bukirk has been designed as a unique romantic getaway for couples and groups looking for somewhere to stay together with their own privacy

Do you do Gift Certificates?

We sure do, on the Home page at the top you will see Gift Certificates, click that and off you go

How many can sleep in a Tent or Fancy Coop?

Can I cook meals there?

You sure can! But not in, around or near the Glamping Tents

For those in a Tent there’s a communal Kitchen in the Outdoor Area with everything you would expect when camping, along with a microwave, kettle, toaster, grill machine, there is even a pizza oven and of course a bbq

For those in a Fancy Coop you have your own kitchen inside with everything you need, along with a microwave, kettle, toaster and a 2 burner stove and you’re more than welcome to use the Outdoor Area facilities too. Please dont cook using your own BBQ or cooker outside on the deck or around the Fancy Coop

Do I need to bring linen?

No you don’t, linen, bath towels and pool towels are provided in all Accommodations

Do I need to bring cutlery, crockery and glassware?

No you don’t, all you need is located in the Outdoor Kitchen and Fancy Coops. And of course this includes Wine and Champagne glasses too!

Is there tea and coffee provided?

Yes, coffee, tea, sugar and milk are provided in the Communal Glamp Kitchen and in the Fancy Coops. Not in the Tent itself as this will attract ants.

Plus there are lot of choices for great coffee in Clare at many of our Cafes and Restaurants

What’s there to do in and around Clare Valley?

There’s so much to see and do in and around the Clare Valley, not only is there wine tasting to be done there is also a couple of craft breweries, plenty of amazing restaurants, cafes and wineries to dine at, cheese platters to be had and lots of historic sites and fun things such as the Mintaro Maze, Silo Art in Farrell Flat, Bungaree Station, Mini Golf in Auburn, Lake Bumbunga and explore historic Burra just to name a few.

My favourite way to explore the wineries is to hire electric bikes and cycle the famous https://rieslingtrail.com.au/

If cycling isnt your thing then take the worry out of where to go and how to get there by doing a wine tour, check out what Mr Willson has to offer at https://www.clarevalleytours.com/about-mr-willson or what Charles can do for you at https://www.valleywinetours.com.au/ or Tim and the guys at https://clarevalleywinetours.com.au

You sure can pat the animals. There are pet cows, sheep, a mini pig, goats and of course Chooks. If you see a black and tan Kelpie that is Archie, my Dad’s dog – he loves pats

Can I feed the pets?

Please check with Chook first as there are things some of them cant eat.. especially Kevin he needs to watch his weight 😂

What’s the best tent?

They are all beautiful and glamorous, with the same offerings

Silkie and Araucana have King Beds and the other three Tents have Queen Beds

Wyandotte Tent is our Stargazing Tent

All the Tents offer the same furnishings as such, they are just decorated differently to match the decor of their chickes plumage

Which tent faces sunrise?

Wyandotte and Frizzle allow you to see the sunrise from the comfort of your bed if you wish, in saying that if you’re in a different Tent all you need to do is pop your head out to see the Sunrise

Which tent faces sunset?

Access to the Sunset is not a problem at Bukirk as the property has unobstructed views, but if you would like the ultimate Tent for viewing the Sunset directly in front of your Tent then Araucana and Silkie are the best followed by Leghorn. Frizzle faces north west so you can see it to your left and Wyandotte faces east, but if you sat on the back of your deck then you would be facing the sunset too! Its not hard to find the right position as you have many options for an awesome view anywhere on the property

Which tents are next to each other?

As you drive in the road leads you to the right

Order from the first tent to the last is

Wyandotte

Frizzle

Leghorn

Silkie

Araucana

Can we have a fire?

Fire Season allows us to use the personalised fabulous fire pit from 1st May through until the end of October, dictated by our local council. There is also a fireplace inside the Glamp Kitchen if weather should not be nice to sit outside.

Each Tent doesn’t have their own fireplace for many reasons, main one being i don’t want the tent to burn down, as they are flammable!

Is the water drinkable?
Due to Bukirks location we don’t have access to Mains Water, therefore we rely on the skies to open up and fill our tanks. There will be times where we have not got any rain water left, therefore i have to purchase mains water from a local company and have it trucked to site, this water is drinkable as its what the township uses. There is water available to purchase in your mini bar fridge, or feel free to bring your own drinking water.
Is there a fridge?

Yes the Tents have a mini bar fridge, perfect size to keep your cheese platter goodies and refreshments cold and there is a large fridge in the outdoor kitchen with a freezer compartment too. The Fancy Coops have a household size fridge which has a freezer compartment as well. There is also a full size fridge in the Pool area too
